During a trip it is possible to determine malfunction of shock-absorbers by the following signs:

 – the long fluctuations of a body caused by roughnesses of the road;
 – a body swing on two following one after another road hillocks;
 – jumping of wheels on the normal road;
 – car breakthrough when braking (it can be caused and other reasons);
 – a road incontience on turns, drift;
 – strong knocks;
 – the increased wear of tires with bald places on a protector.

The shock-absorber can be checked effort of a hand. Exact definition of degree of wear possibly only by means of adaptations: a rod tester (the shock-absorber does not act in film) or the test car of shock-absorbers.

Shock-absorber check by effort of a hand

1. Remove the shock-absorber.
2. 3 times in assembled form stretch and compress the shock-absorber. During all course the shock-absorber should move evenly hard, without breakthroughs, besides, without undesirable noise.
3. Completely move a shock-absorber rod, then release it. The rod should be put forward outside with uniform speed.
4. At excellent job insignificant traces of oil are not the basis for shock-absorber replacement.
5. Replace the shock-absorber at big loss of oil.
6. Put the shock-absorber.

Utilization of shock-absorbers


The shock-absorber contains mineral oil, and, for example, in Germany, according to the law on a waste its contents are given together with engine oil.

1. To merge oil from the shock-absorber, it is necessary to let out previously from it nonpoisonous gas without color and a smell, having drilled at distance of 20 mm from the basis a hole in diameter of 3 mm.
2. To merge oil, it is necessary to drill a hole in diameter of 5 mm at distance of 60 mm from the basis.
