2.8. Car towage

GENERAL INFORMATION

The forward towing eye is behind a cover on the right on the buffer. A cover open fingers advance. At installation of a towing bar for a rigid hitch enter its hook into the car middle (in the arrow direction) to provide sufficient maneuverability.

The back towing eye is located on the right under the buffer.

Towage rules

Include ignition not to block a wheel of a steering and it was possible to put in action a sound signal and screen wipers.

Transmission establish in neutral situation, at cars with an automatic transmission establish the lever of its management in the situation "N".

Turn on emergency and light alarm systems at the pulling and towed car.

As the amplifier of a brake drive and the steering mechanism with the amplifier functions only at the working engine, in the idle car it is necessary to press a pedal of a brake and a steering wheel more strongly respectively!

We recommend to apply a towing bar to a rigid hitch as there is a big danger of arrival at application of a flexible towing cable. This cable should be elastic to save up from collision among themselves towed and pulling cars. Apply only cables from artificial fiber or cables with elastic intermediate links.

Features of towage of the cars equipped with an automatic transmission

Maximum speed towage: 50km/hour! Maximum distance of towage: 50 km!

On big distances raise behind the car by means of the car for towage of faulty vehicles or load completely on it.

To tow the faulty car without transmission oil it is possible only with the raised driving wheels.

Features of towage of the cars equipped with automatic blocked differential (ASD) or system of regulation of a proskalzyvaniye of driving wheels of rather basic surface (ASR)

At cars with ASD or with ASR it is impossible to establish the ignition key in situation II (ignition is included) if towage is carried out with the raised forward bridge.

Prevention

Towage (for the purpose of engine start-up) by means of the car which was in movement is impossible at the cars equipped with an automatic transmission. Cars with the catalyst can be towed only at the cold engine and at carrying out test, otherwise there is a danger of damage of the catalyst.
