8.3.2. Check / control of the beginning of supply of fuel by the pump

The beginning of forcing of the fuel pump of nozzles is checked, or control if the engine gives too low power, respectively, is made or the new fuel pump was established.

There are two various verifying and adjusting methods which can be used in a repair truck depending on its equipment: a static method with use of the item sensor and a dynamic verifying method with use of the digital control device. Here the static method with use of the item sensor is described. Control of the beginning of supply of fuel by the pump needs the item sensor (the situation sensor).

After static control the beginning of giving of the pump is necessary for checking in the dynamic way in a repair truck, and, therefore, and in an idling mode. For engines in volume of 2,2/2,5 l only dynamic check, or, respectively, control of the beginning of supply of fuel by the pump is provided.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Turn out a carving stopper (shooter) sideways on the fuel pump of a high pressure.
Prevention

If oil acts, clean it a rag.


2. Establish the item sensor (1) in the regulator case so that the directing pin specified (3) sensors up. By hand tighten a cap nut.
3. Establish a cranked shaft in the situation corresponding to the moment of ignition of the first cylinder.
4. After that turn further a pulley until on the display sensor (5) the bulb will flash (And). Now continue to rotate quite slowly a pulley while both bulbs (And) and burn (In).
In this case both contacts of the item sensor (1), thanks to pins грузика (6) centrifugal mechanisms of regulation settle down on weight in view of what both bulbs are shone. This provision of a regulator (2) fuel pumps of nozzles indirectly corresponds to the beginning of supply of fuel the pump.
5. The pulley should be now in a position 14 ° + 0,5 ° after VMT. I.e. the initial mark is above situation 14 ° labels on a pulley.
Prevention

Do not rotate the engine in the opposite direction. If the bulb flashes only (In), test repeat. Thus turn the crankshaft approximately on two turns and especially slowly turn it in area in which the bulb lights up.


Control

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Establish a cranked shaft in the direction of rotation of the engine on 14 ° after VMT of the first cylinder. For this purpose a cranked shaft at first establish in the situation corresponding to the moment of ignition, and then turn further a little.
2. Weaken, without unscrewing, bolts (13) on a flange of the fuel pump of a high pressure.
3. Weaken, without unscrewing, bolts (13а) on the basic holder of the fuel pump of a high pressure.
4. Rotate by means of a face wrench a tension bolt and, thanks to it, displace the fuel pump of a high pressure until on the display device both bulbs (And) and will not light up (In). Thus a tension bolt rotate to the right if at test the beginning of giving of the pump settled down for 14 ° after VMT mark. If the beginning of giving of the pump has to occur earlier, turn a tension bolt to the left.
Prevention

If moving possibility by means of a tension bolt is not provided, it is necessary to remove and rearrange the pump of nozzles (repair truck work).


5. With the moment of 25 N of m (rough value) tighten to the full fixing bolts of the pump of nozzles on a flange and the holder.
6. Unscrew and Take the item sensor.
7. Screw in with the moment of 30 N of m a carving stopper with an aluminum sealing ring.
8. Check gas system of drafts and levers, if necessary adjust.
9. Check level of engine oil, at possibility make adjustment.
