12.10. Brake liquid

GENERAL INFORMATION

At the treatment of brake liquid it is necessary to mean the following:

– brake liquid is poisonous. At all do not suck away her mouth through a hose. To fill in brake liquid only in the vessels which application for other purposes is excluded;
– brake liquid corrodes an automobile varnish if it casually occurred at hit, at once to wipe it and to wash away a large amount of water;
– brake liquid is hygroscopic, i.e. absorbs moisture from air. Therefore to store brake liquid follows only in the closed vessels;
– the brake liquid which has been already used once in brake system, should not be applied again. When pumping brakes to fill in only new brake liquid.

Specification of brake liquid: DOT 4.

Brake liquid should not contact to fat or mineral oil. Already insignificant traces of mineral oil do brake liquid unsuitable to the use or conduct to failure of brake system.

To change brake liquid each 2 years, whenever possible, after a cold season.

To hand over the used brake liquid on a warehouse of special waste, instead of to merge in the sewerage. Not to mix brake liquid with engine oil.
