4.4. Consumption of oil

GENERAL INFORMATION

For internal combustion engines the consumption of oil is meant as that amount of oil which is spent in the course of combustion. It is not necessary to identify a consumption of oil with its leak which results from a leakage of the oil pallet, a cover of a head of the block of cylinders etc.

The normal consumption of oil arises thanks to combustion respectively a small amount of oil in the cylinder, branch of products of combustion and istiraniye particles. Besides, oil is spent owing to high temperatures and a high pressure in the engine. External factors make on a consumption of oil, such as a driving manner, production admissions also impact. In a normal case this expense is so small that between the ordered intervals of replacement of oil it is required only insignificant it having added.

Oil should be added, if the mark "Nachfull" (dolivka) (the maximum quantity of added oil of 2 l) is reached.

Prevention

Do not fill in engine oil above "Maximal" marking. If too much oil is filled in, surpluses should be merged. Otherwise the catalyst since not burned down oil gets into the final device can be damaged.
