2.5.4.5. Replacement of brake liquid

GENERAL INFORMATION

Only at cars without system of regulation of a proskalzyvaniye of driving wheels of rather basic surface (ASR).

Necessary special tool:

 – a round key for an otvorachivaniye of bolts of the exhaust device;
 – transparent plastic hose.

Necessary fast-wearing-out details:

 – about 0,5 l of brake liquid of the DOT 4 specification.

Brake liquid through a time of brake hoses, and also through a ventilating opening of a tank absorbs moisture from air. Because of it eventually operation the temperature of boiling of brake liquid decreases. At strong loading of brakes it can lead to formation of vials of steam in pipelines of a brake drive because of what functioning of system of braking is strongly broken.

Irrespective of run size brake liquid replace, whenever possible, in the spring, every two years. At numerous trips to mountain areas brake liquid replace through shorter periods.

At the treatment of brake liquid observe precaution rules.

Note a felt strip level of brake liquid in a tank. After replacement of brake liquid again restore its initial level. Thanks to it the modulation of a tank of a hydraulic brake drive is prevented at replacement of frictional overlays of brake shoes.
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. By means of a sucking-away bottle pump out from a tank of a hydraulic brake drive brake liquid to level about 10 mm.
Prevention

Do not empty completely a tank that air did not get to brake system.


2. Fill with new brake liquid a tank to "max" mark.
3. Pull on the right back support of a disk brake a pure hose over the valve сапуна, substitute a suitable vessel.
4. Charge to the assistant to squeeze out several times a brake pedal until antipressure will be created. Charge to squeeze out a brake pedal, at the same time open the valve сапуна and leave to follow brake liquid through a transparent hose. Close the valve сапуна if the pedal adjoins the basis of a bearing body, remove a foot from a pedal. This operation repeat (about 10 times) on each valve сапуна until already new brake liquid will start to act. It is possible to determine new brake liquid by more light coloring.
5. Close the valve сапуна, fill a tank with new brake liquid.
6. As pump out old brake liquid from other supports of disk brakes.
Prevention

In any case lowered brake liquid should be transparent and not contain vials.

Old brake liquid hand over as special waste.
